Wow, what a summer it has been so far! We just pulled into a slip in Drummond Island, Michigan on August 1st, after two amazing months spent primarily in Canada. If you have been following our updates, you may be thinking – “What? Weren’t you just in Albany, NY at the last update? You’ve left upstate New York and are already all the way through Canada?” Well, I am hopelessly behind on drafting blog posts, and it is not looking likely that I will have the time to devote to that anytime soon. Fortunately, George keeps a detailed log and when time permits, I will be able to go back and write up the stories of each segment to preserve our many fond memories of this adventure.
In the meantime, I am going to make a series of “placeholder” posts to share the wonderful videos of each segment that George has put together. The parts of the world we have been exploring since the end of May are incredibly beautiful and we share that with you in George’s videos.
This first “placeholder” post covers our travels from May 25th through May 31st, and takes us from Albany, NY through the Erie Canal, then through the Oswego Canal. We were joined on this segment by our good friends from Panama City, Norbert and Connie Gittard, and it was wonderful to have them onboard. You will see in George’s video how great it was to have extra hands aboard Assisted Living as we traversed thirty-one locks along the Erie and the Oswego Canals. It has been quite an adventure!
